Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable mutual diagnosis without special hardware to be added, by performing the start of diagnostic program and the collection of result, while making the communication with an arbitrary processor and data to one of a plurality of processors. CONSTITUTION:A processor 1 is taken as the processor for man-machine interface and when the cause to start of a diagnostic program is generated in a processor 2, the processor 2 selects a processor 3 as a diagnosed processor and transmits a data starting the diagnostic program of the processor 3 to the processor 3 as a line I. The processor 3 runs the diagnostic program after analyzing the received data and the result is returned to the processor 2 as shown in line II. The processor 2 compares the resulting data with the expected data and repeats the said procedure up to the processor n if it is normal, allowing to confirm the normality of all the processors.
