Abstract

PURPOSE: Synthetic fiber colored by blending is made to adsorb iodine and treated with an aqueous cuprous compound to include colorless cuprous iodide, thus showing electric conductivity of high durability without any adverse effect on the color tone of the fiber.
CONSTITUTION: Synthetic fiber such as polyethylene terephthalate or nylon 6 is colored by the blending method and dipped in an aqueous iodine containing a dissolution assistant such as potassium iodide to adsorb iodine in it by more than 2wt%. Then, the fiber including iodine adsorbed is dipped inan aqueous cuprous compound such as cuprous chloride to form cuprous iodide in it, whereby the objective fiber of less than 1×1012ohm/cm under 1kV direct current voltage is obtained.
EFFECT: Since cuprous iodide is colorless, any color can be freely selected in the blend according to the products.
