Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of a hot water supplying pipe by adding a prescribed amount of sodium thiosulfate to hot water when the hot water is circulated through the pipe and supplied. CONSTITUTION:A pipe made of copper or copper alloy is laid, and city water is heated to about 60 deg.C, circulated through the pipe, and supplied. At this time, sodium thiosulfate is injected into the circulating hot water at <=1ppm concn. in the water. By this method the copper pipe can be used over years, and a leakage of water due to corrosion of the pipe is prevented.
