Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a steel plate with satisfactory workability and high strength coated with Al by hot dipping by passing a cold rolled steel plate having a specified composition contg. P through an in-line continuous Al hot dipping apparatus under specified annealing conditions. CONSTITUTION:A steel consisting of 0.01-0.15% C, <=0.30% Si, 0.10-1.2% Mn, 0.05-0.15% P, <=0.025% S, 0.01-10.10% sol. Al and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is hot rolled and cold rolled, and the resulting plate is passed through a Sendzimir type continuous Al hot dipping apparatus as it is. The passing conditions are adjusted to the Ac1 transformation point -850 deg.C and 5-120sec. C is necessary for the strength, yet >0.15% C deteriorates the lap resistance weldability and workability. Si is necessary for the strength, etc., yet the content is restricted to ensure hot dipping. Mn is necessary for the strength, etc., yet >1.2% Mn deteriorates the workability. P increases the strength and workability remarkably, yet the content is restricted not to lower the ductility. Less S is favorable for the workability. When the annealing temp. is below the lower limit, the workability is not enhanced, and at a temp. above the upper limit the workability is deteriorated gently.
