Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled device which is additionally provided with 1 or more of preliminary ink jet heads, is equipped with an interchangeable output means, produces reliable and stable ink drops by means of a simple system, and enables to perform a recording of better quality at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:Ink jet heads 10-1-4, and a head holder 11 are housed in a hollow cylinder, and ink, fed from a conduit 13, is distributed to each through a branch pipe 14 in the holder 11. With, for example, the head 10-1 operated, a small ink drop 16 is jetted to a recording paper 15. A cleansing liquid is fed to a hollow chamber 17-4 through a conduit 18a, and after a standing liquid 19 is produced, it is discharged through a conduit 18b, and the end (where an ink jet nozzle is located) of the head 10-4 is washed. If the head 10-1 is clogged, a hollow chamber 17-1 is moved to a lowermost position in Fig. through the rotation of the holder 11 by 90 deg., and the head 10-1 is washed in the same manner to remove the clogging.
