Abstract
PURPOSE: To surely fix a cylindrical shaft and a projected member to make them in one body, by loosely fitting the projected member to the hollow cylindrical shaft with a soldering material, and then, by expanding the cylindrical shaft with hydraulic pressure, and, at the same time, rotating the cylindrical shaft and the projected member relatively.
CONSTITUTION: A projected member 2, such as cam piece, etc., whose inner surface is coated with a soldering material 4, is loosely fitted to the outer circumference of a hollow cylindrical shaft 1, such as cam shaft, etc., and the projected member 2 is clamped with a metallic mold 3. Then pressure is applied to the inside of the cylindrical shaft 1 and the shaft 1 is expanded by supplying high pressure water from a high pressure water source 6 connected to the cylindrical shaft 1, and the projected member 2 is pressure-contacted to the shaft 1 through the soldering material 4. When the cylindrical shaft is rotated at a high speed under this condition, the soldering material 4 gradually melts due to the frictional heat. When the rotation is stopped under the condition where the shaft is expanded, the molten soldering material 4 is naturally cooled, thus the projected member 2 and the cylindrical shaft 1 are firmly fixed to each other.
