Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep supercharging at a proper level in an urban district, by providing a solenoid valve in the intake system of an engine equipped with a turbocharger in such a manner as to open or close the solenoid valve depending on the comparison between an actually measured value and the reference valve of supercharging pressure.
CONSTITUTION: An engine E is provided with a turbocharger (not shown), while an intake manifold 4 communicating with a cylinder 6 is equipped with a fuel injection device 5, supercharging pressure detector 10, and solenoid valve 11 serving as a relief valve which discharges an excess air. Signals sent out from the ejector 10 and a reference signal generator 12 are fed in a comparator control device 13, where, opening rate of the solenoid valve 11 is determined depending on the results of operation.
