Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a response device with low cost, by providing a storage means storing the character data having the number possible for assembling of the call sign of the entire broadcast station, and operation key of characters corresponding to the characters of the storage means. CONSTITUTION:In a response device 16, character data representing alphabets A-Z are stored in an ROMe of a control section 163, and the alphabet keys A-Z which can input the call signs (CSs) of all the broadcast stations through the selection are provided on a keyboard 161. The keys A-Z corresponding to each character of the CS are selected and the character data corresponding to the key output are read out from the ROMe and after assembling all the characters for the CS, a preset key is operated to write in the CS data to an RAMf. At the same time, the CS is outputted in voice from a speaker (d) of a voice response section 162. Thus, the storage capacity of the ROMe can be less and the manufacturing cost can be reduced, allowing to preset the CS surely and easily.
