Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a dry cell having high leakage resistance, by inserting a flange paper where a sealing agent layer is provided on an insulation paper into a zinc can can then thermally fusing said agent layer to permeat the sealing agent sufficiently to the separation paper and a carbon rod in the can. CONSTITUTION:A thermally fusable sealing agent layer 10 is formed on an insulation paper 12, then a flange paper 8 having a through-hole 9 to be fitted with a carbon rod 2 in a zinc can 3 and the outer diameter to be fitted with the inner diameter of said can 3 is punched out. Said flange paper 8 is inserted while fitting the through-hole 9 to the carbon rod 2 in the zinc can 3 by means of a pressing zig 16 to mount the flange paper 8 on an anode agent 1. Then while contacting a heating zig 18 with the outer-circumferential face of the carbon rod 2 and the inner-circumferential face of the can 3, the lower end face of the heating zig 18 is contacted against the sealing agent layer 10 to thermally fuse the sealing agent. The fused sealing agent will permeat into the preheated carbon rod 2 and contact tightly with it, while simultaneously flows between a bent separaing paper 4 and the can 3, thereby the leakage of the liquid from the cell can be prevented.
