Abstract
PURPOSE:To determine the areal center position correctly and quickly by means of a simple constitution by a method wherein calculating a peak waveform from the starting end and the finishing end of a series of data of the peak wave form and detecting the position of data where the results of calculation of both sides coincide. CONSTITUTION:Data including n values from S1 to Sn representing a peak waveform is stored in a memory 5. The values S1 and Sn are read out from the memory 5 and are sent to the calculators 15 and 16 respectively. A comparator 17 compares S1 and Sn and when S1>Sn, the comparator 17 provides a selection signal 18 to send a value Sn-1 to the calculator 16, therefore, the calculator 16 provides an output D of Sn+Sn-1. Then the comparator 17 compares Sn+Sn-1 and S1 and when (Sn+Sn-1)>S1, the comparator 17 provides a selection signal 18 to send a value S2 to the calculator 15 from the memory 5. Thus the data is calculated from the starting end and the finishing end of the memory and the position of No.r or No. (r+1), where the respective outputs of the calculators 15 and 16 are substantially equal to each other, is determined to be the areal center position of the peak waveform equally dividing the area of the peak waveform.
