Abstract

PURPOSE: To titled molding material capable of preparing a uniform metallized product having high strength without requiring pretreatment, by blending a synthetic resin with an organic group-containing silica gel adsorbing a metal of catalyst for metallizing.
CONSTITUTION: A silane coupling agent having an organic functional group (e.g., alkylamino group, etc.) is added to water-glass, stirred, and the blend is added to a diluted acid, allowed to stand, and washed with water, to give an organic group- containing silica gel. The silica gel having metal adsorbability (when silica gel has no adsorbability, it is provided with it by using cation exchange and chelate bond method) is immersed in a metal salt solution of a metal of catalyst for metallizing (e.g., 1b and 8 group element, e.g., Pd, Ag, etc.) and the adsorption amount of the metal of catalyst for metallizing is made ≥0.001wt%, and the silica gel is blended with the synthetic resin to give the desired molding material.
