Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a simple and compact structure for an optical servo device, by detecting an error signal from the change of envelope of the reflected light given from an information recording surface and controlling the position of a light spot. CONSTITUTION:The beams sent from a laser beam source 1 are focused 7 on a track 9 on a disk 8 via a tracking mirror 4 and an objective lens 8. This reflected light is supplied to a photodetector 10, and the output of this detector is applied to a sampling circuit 62 via an envelope wave detector 60 and an A/D converter 61. A counter 70 starts counting with a timing pulse given from a timing pulse generating circuit 69, and at the same time an envelope signal Sn is delivered from the circuit 62. The difference between the signal Sn and the initial value Sn-1 of a shift register 63 is supplied to a logical circuit 64. A control degree DELTAn is delivered via a multiplier 64, and the mirror 4 is controlled via an A/D converter 66, an integral network 67 and an actuator 5.
