Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover a metal in good heat efficiency by a method wherein a resin coated metal product is entered into a melting furnace and thermally decomposed to fill an inside of the furnace with a thermally decomposed gas generated from a resin and an excessive part of said gas is discharged to the outside of the furnace to be combusted and combustion gas is utilized in heating the metal product.
CONSTITUTION: When a metal product 11 coated with polyethylene, vinyl acetate or the like is thrown into a melting furnace 1 from a throw-in port 8 and said furnace 1 is heated by a heating burner 2, the resin coating said metal product 11 is gasified by thermal decomposition. The resultant thermally decomposed gas fills an inside of the furnace and the excessive thermally decomposed gas is reached to a thermal decomposition gas burner 3 through a thermally decomposed gas passage 4 by its own wt. as shown by an arrow. Herein, oxygen is supplied from an oxygen supply passage 5 so as to mix said thermally decomposed gas and oxygen in an appropriate mixing ratio and said thermally decomposed gas is combusted. When combustion of the burner 3 is initiated, the burner 2 is extinguished and the heating of the furnace 1 thereafter is carried out by the burner 3.
