Abstract

PURPOSE: A molding composition capable of providing products excellent in appearance, mechanical strength, impact resistance, etc., comprising a urethanized unsaturated polyester resin, an unsaturated polyester resin, a polymerizable monomer, a curing catalyst, an alkaline earth metal (hydr)oxide and a fibrous reinforcing material.
CONSTITUTION: A composition is obtained by mixing 100pts.wt. mixture obtained by mixing (A) a urethanized unsaturated polyester resin containing a polymerizable monomer with (B) an unsaturated polyester containing a polymerizable monomer so that the solid weight ratio of the urethanized unsaturated polyester to the unsaturated polyester is 10/90W90/10 and the weight ratio of the total of the urethanized unsaturated polyester and the unsaturated polyester to the polymerizable monomers is 30/70W85/15, with (C) a curing catalyst, e.g., t-butyl perbenzoate, and (D) 0.1W20pts.wt. alkaline earth metal (hydr)oxide, e.g., MgO.
