Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled latex that is made by sensitizing latex with the group polysaccharide antibody against Streptococcus hemolyticus that is prepared by isolating and purifying from the cell antibody of Streptococcus hemolyticus, thus enabling the early diagnosis of infections caused by Streptococcus hemolyticus by the coagulation reaction of reversed passive latex.
CONSTITUTION: The group polysaccharide that is contained in all the strains of Streptococcus hemolyticus is mixed with the cell antibody of ttreptococcus hemolyticus made by immunization to form the precipitant of only the immune complex, which is centrifuged for separation. Then, the precipitant is thoroughly washed to produce pure polysaccharide immune complex. The complex is dissociated to form the group polysaccharide antibody against Streptococcus hemolyticus, which is sensitized to latex particles (preferably polystyrene of 0.01W10μ average particle size and of 0.9W1.4 specifi gravity). The sensitized latex is used to detect the group polysaccharide antibody by the reversed passive latex coagulation reaction. Further addition of glycine, dextran and other additives to the latex is preferred as stabilizers.
