Abstract

PURPOSE: An antialcoholic adipohepatic agent, containing protoporphyrin or a salt thereof as an active constituent, and capable of suppressing or removing the deposition of lipid on the liver by the drinking of alcohol.
CONSTITUTION: An antialcoholic adipohepatic agent containing protoporphyrin or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof as an active constituent. The protoporphyrin or the salt thereof has the activity of suppressing the deposition or removing the deposition of lipid, e.g. triglyceride or cholesterol, on the liver due to the drinking of the alcohol and is useful as an antialcoholic adipohepatic agent. The daily dose of the agent is 10W1,000mg per adult, preferably about 60W600mg. For example, the agent is formulated into a powder, tablet, capsule, etc. for use.
