Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently utilize a dead space and to protect a sensor from an external force, by housing the sensor to be situated in a cylindrical body. CONSTITUTION:A head pipe 2 is the body side member, and a steering shaft 3 is the steering side member. Both the members 2, 3 are formed into cylindrical shafts, and an upper part 3a of the cylindrical steering shaft 3 extending from the upper end of the head pipe 2 passes through a top bridge 4 and opens upward. The sensor 20 that detects steering of the steering wheel with respect to the body is fitted into an upper open part 3b of the steering shaft 3. Thus the sensor 20 is situated to be housed in the cylindrical steering side member, that is, an inner hollow chamber of the steering shaft 3, so that the sensor 20 is incorporated into the vehicle utilizing the dead space, and is separated from external force.
