Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the endurance of an electrophotographic receptor by forming under coat layers on the support of a receptor at edge parts to increase the adhesion to an insulating layer, laying a photoconductive layer and the insulating layer in order, and bringing edge parts of the insulating layer into direct and close contact with the under coat layers. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer 2 is formed on a support 1 such as an Al cylinder except both edges each having about 10mm. width by applying and drying a coating liq. contg. CdS powder and a binder. On the edge parts of the cylinder 1 with Al exposed under coat layers 4 are formed by applying and drying a soln. of a resin with superior adhesion such as vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin. A soln. of cyclized butadiene rubber or the like is then applied to the whole surface to form a sealing and insulating layer 5 preventing the absorption of the solvent of the layer 2 and water, and finally an insulating layer 3 of polyethylene, polycarbonate, epoxy resin or the like is formed. When the layer 5 is not necessary, the layer 3 is formed directly. Thus, the endurance is enhanced.
