Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of vibraton and noise in a car by means of a construction to change the rotary strain of a rotary damper in two stages in accordance with the increase of transmission torque in order to reduce the direct transmission of torque change in a direct-coupled clutch.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary damper is constructed of disk element 26, 27, 29, and a compression coil spring 30. The right end of the coil spring 30 is supported by a right end 40a of a ring-shaped flange 40, while the left end by an end rim 42a of an opening 42 of the disk element 29. Besides, an end rim 42'a is positoned to be separated by a circumferential distance (f) from a spring 30'. Thereby, the relation beween rotary strain and transmission torque in the rotary damper can be shown by a solid line, and the rotary strain of the rotary damper is D2 when a direct- coupled clutch is operated at a transmission torque T2, and the value of T2/D2 is reduced. Coonsequently, shock and vibration at the time of low torque can be absorbed more efficiently for preventing vibration and noise.
