Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify construction by making the incident time of infrared rays longer than the time when the output shows a peak in the case of a pyroelectric type sensor and longer than 3 times the time constant in the case of thermistor type and thermocouple tape by means of a shutter. CONSTITUTION:A shutter 1 is provided at the inlet of a cylindrical body 2 which is internally subjected to blackening treatment, and a reflecting mirror 3 made by vapor depositing aluminum on a parabolic surface consisting of a resin such as ABS and a sensor 4 are provided on the opposite side. The shutter is opened for a time longer than the time when the output of the sensor attains a peak value in case the sensor 4 is of pyroelectric type, and for a time longer than 3 times the time constant when it is of thermistor type or thermocouple type. The output obtained with the sensor 4 is processed in a control part 11, and is displayed in a temp. indicating part 13. Thereby, the construction is made simple, optical failure is prevented and saturated value is measured with about 5% accuracy. Particularly this is suitable when applied for noncontact measurement the temp. in the mouth.
