A waxy lubricating film 0.05W0.5g/m2 in thickness is formed by use of said lubricant on the surface of a directional electromagnetic steel plate coated with a glassy film primarily consisting of 2MgO.SiO3, on which an inorg, insulating film may be additionally formed.
