Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently separate oil through centrifugal action due to the change of the flowing direction of a high-pressure coolant conducted into the high pressure chambers of a front and a rear cylinder heads, by providing oil collection chambers in each high pressure chamber so that the oil collection chambers extend on opposite inside wall surface sections.
CONSTITUTION: In a high pressure chamber 19b, a high-pressure coolant joins another high-pressure coolant from another high pressure chamber 19a on a front side and the united coolant collides against the wall surface or the like of the chamber 19b and the passage of the coolant is changed so that it revolvingly flows. The coolant receives centrifugal action due to the revolving flow so that oil is separated. The separated oil is conveyed in the direction of flowing of the coolant in the high- pressure chamber 19b so that the oil is gathered into oil collection chambers 30a, 30b. The oil is then conducted into a drive shaft insertion hole 26 through a passage 32 to lubricate a radial bearing 10b and a thrust bearing 9b. After that, the oil is recovered to an oil reservoir 6.
