Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the SN ratio, by avoiding the antenna directivity toward the incident direction of an unnecessary signal, through the production of a phase shifter control signal, after an optimum phase shift of a phase shifter is operated in analog quantity and quantized. CONSTITUTION:A signal received an antenna element group 1 constituting an array antenna with a plurality of antenna elements 11,12...1l...1k is branched: one is applied to phase shifters 22,22...2l...2k in series connection to each antenna element and a signal in phase shift control is applied to a synthesizer 3. The output signal of the synthesizer 3 is branched: one is taken as an output and another is applied to a signal processor 4. The optimum extent of the phase shift at each phase shifter is operated at an analog quantity at an operator 41 based on a signal applied to the signal processor 4, then the optimum extent of the phase shift obtained with the analog quantity is quantized at a quantizer 42 and applied to each phase shifter.
