Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure a temperature of a molten metal, by leading a light beam of the molten metal through a stainless steel pipe which has been laid through a furnace wall in the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A light beam which has been led directly or by a reflection of the inside surface of a pipe 1 from a molten metal through the pipe is furthermore led to a photodetecting converter 10 through a fiber scope 9, its temperature is measured continuously, and its temperature measured data is led to a multicolor temperature indication recorder 11 through a cable 12. In this regard, this pipe is constituted of a double pipe consisting of an outside pipe and an inside pipe as necessary, and the outside pipe is used for cooling use and the inside pipe is used for photometric use, by which inert gas having larger pressure than that of the molten metal is supplied and back flow of the molten metal is prevented.
