Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a rotor having stable electrical and mechanical strengths for an induction motor by forming a piece bent between slots to which copper rods are inserted of a shortciucuit ring, curshing the piece and coupling the ring to the copper rod. CONSTITUTION:A central hole 12 and slots having narrow circumferential width smaller than the copper rod 2 are formed depending upon the number of the copper rods 2 in a shortcircuit ring 18 made of copper material, and the pieces 15 between the solots are bent to form radially extending tails 16. The pieces 15 are bent, and the copper rods 2 are so inserted into the slots 17 expanded by bending the pieces 15 that the tails 16 becomes outside, the pieces 15 are then crushed by a pressing punch or the like to caulk the pieces and the rods 2 of the ring 18 and are thus fixed. Further larger caulking effect can be obtained by crushing the ends of the rods 2.
