Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the flow rate distribution with ease without using valve mechanism by a method wherein temperature control devices are respectively provided in distributing pipes of mixed fuel in order to change the viscosity of the mixed fuel by changing its temperature, resulting in controlling the flow rate of the mixed fuel flowing through the respective distributing pipes.
CONSTITUTION: The mixed fuel 8, consisting of heavy oil, tar or the like contained with powder such as pulverized coal, coke dust or the like, is stored in a tank 1 equipped with a stirrer 2 to prevent the powder from settling and supplied to respective blast furnace twyers by means of a proportioning feed pump 3 through a transport pipe 4 and the distributing pipes 5. The temperature control devices 6 are respectively provided in the distributing pipes 5 to change individually the temperatures of the mixed fuel in the respective distributing pipes 5. The flow rate of the mixed fuel 8 flowing in the respective distributing pipes 5 is controlled by changing the viscosity of the mixed fuel 8 changing in response to its temperature. In such a manner as mentioned above, the control of flow rate distribution between the distributing pipes can be performed without using flow control valves or the like, resulting in eliminating the complication in structure, maintenance control and the like annexed to the use of valves.
