Abstract
PURPOSE:To limit output voltage to prevent the saturation of a measuring device, and to make accurate measurement of arc voltage by connecting a semiconductor diode in reverse-parallel to the output circuit of a voltage divider. CONSTITUTION:Diodes 9 are connected in reverse-parallel across a resistance 6 which is the output side of a voltage divider consisting of a high resistance 5 and a resistance 6 for measurement. By forming the voltage divider in this way, the voltage generated across the resistance 6 is limited by a constant value despite any increase in the input of arc voltage, and the voltage above this is not outputted. Hence, the saturation of a measuring device, for example, oscilloscope connected across the resistance is prevented and the arc voltage is measured accurately.
