Abstract

PURPOSE: To automate and facilitate grease replacement work, by performing the entire replacement work with a replacing unit through a plurality of grease replacing holes which communicate with the oribit face and seal sliding face of a sealed roll neck bearing for a rolling machine.
CONSTITUTION: One or more fitting screws 21 for the grease replacing holes 20 of an inner race 8 are removed. A grease replacing unit 24 is connected to the holes 20 through replacing hoses 22, 23. A grease solvent is first heated and introduced. An outer race 2 is then rotated to drain deteriorated grease. Clean kerosene is intorduced to remove residual grease. The inside is cleaned and de-fatted with a Freon solvent and dried. After that, a required amount of grease is introduced through a measuring pmp. The fitting screws 21 are attached. According to this constitution, the grease can be replaced automatically, rapidly and easily.
