Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a titled wire which can assure supeior feed characteristic and arc stability in spite of using a feeder for ordinary solid wires by improving the sectional deformation resistance of a flux cored wire and controlling the coefft. of friction of the surface to an adequate range. CONSTITUTION:In the section of a flux cored wire for welding consisting of enclosing flux with a metallic sheath, the average of compressive load, that is, sectional deformation resistance, of the time when the rates of linear deformation with respect to the respective directions of a-a' and b-b' shown in the figure are 1% is set at >=230kg. Further, the coefft. of friction of the wire surface is set at 0.12-0.50. As a result, the deformation of the wire at the feed rollers is prevented, feed characteristic is made stable, and the defect of electricity conduction in a contact tip is prevented. Also, it is possible to make the fluctuation amplitude of welding current extremely small and arc staility exceptionally high by maintaining the variance in the sectional deformation resistance of the wire at <=50kg.
