Abstract

PURPOSE: To start an oil rotary vacuum pump and a mechanical booster pump simultaneously by incorporating a baffle plate into the vacuum pump inserted between a welding chamber and the mechanical booster pump, and operating the same simultaneously with a valve.
CONSTITUTION: A baffle plate 14 is inserted together with a vacuum pump 3 into between the vacuum pipings 9 and 10 between a welding chamber 1 and a mechanical booster pump 4. This baffle plate 14 is operated synchronously with the valve 3, so that no large load is applied upon the pump 4 despite simultaneous operation of an oil rotary vacuum pump 6 and the pump 4. For example, the degree of opening of the valve 3 is so set as to be gradually increased and to be fully opened 2W3sec after together with the baffle plate 14 in synchronization therewith, it is possible to start the pump 4 simultaneously with the pump 6 from the atmosphere pressure.
