Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by simplifying constitution by eliminating the need to back up a storing means, such as an RAM, by transferring information, written in the RAM generating music information according writing and reading operations, to a magnetic belt. CONSTITUTION:Music information from a keyboard or an input part equipped with a high-pitched tone, an octave selection, and a note-length keys, etc., is written in the RAM113 of a control part 130 equipped with a microcomputer 111, an ROM 112, an interface 110 a control switch group 120, etc. This information is read out and an automatic performance is played through a music generation part 60. The music information read out of the RAM112 on the other hand, is written on a magnetic recording band 31 by a recording head 205; when the power is cut off, the RAM112 is backed up and when the power source is put to work again, the music information read out from the recording band 31 by a card reader is written in and read from the RAM112 for the automatic performance, thus obtaining an automatic playing instrument of simple constitution which need not equip a backup device for the storing means such as the RAM and reduced the power consumption.
