Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove malodors, and obtain less viscous dehydrated cake of low water contents by adding at least an oxidizer as a modifier for sludgelike materials to the sludgelike materials in their heating process or the prestage process thereof and mechanically dehydrating said materials.
CONSTITUTION: Sludgelike materials S-1 and hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizer H are supplied to an oxidizer adding process 1, where both are mixed and agitated by an impeller or water stream. Thence, the oxidized sludgelike materials S-2 are supplied to a heat treatment process 2, where they are subjected to heat treatment at prescribed temps. The resultant sludgelike materials S-3 are supplied to a mechanical dehydration process 6, where they are separated to dehydrated cake K of low water contents and dehyration separating water W. It is necessary to use at least oxidizers out of oxidizers, high molecular flocculating agent and metallic ion dissociating materials as the modifier for the sludgelike materials. In the process 2, the materials S-2 are indirectly or directly heated by a heating medium E or electromagnetic waves.
