CONSTITUTION: In carbonylating dimethyl ether to give methyl acetate, palladium, iodine, and tertiary amide (e.g., N-methylpyrrolidone, etc.) as catalysts, are blended with 0.1W1,000mol, preferably 1W100mol based on 1g atom palladium of aliphatic carboxylic acid (e.g., acetic acid, etc.), alkali metal salt (e.g., lithium carbonate, etc.) or alkaline earth metal salt (e.g., calcium carbonate, etc.).
USE: A raw material for preparing acetic anhydride, ethyl acetate, ethylidene diacetate, etc.
