Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the productivity of a decorated molding consisting of integrally combined base material and molding material by a method in which a molding material is put on the upside of a base plate and then pressed by a metallic mold in such a way as to present an engraved pattern. CONSTITUTION:A base material 1 is continuously extruded from an extrusion molding machine 3, and a molding material 2 is quantitatively extruded onto the extruded base material 1 through the nozzle of an extruder 4. After the lapse of a certain period of time, when the surface layer of the base material 1 is softened by an organic solvent contained in the molded material 2, a mold 5 is pressed to the molding material 2. The mold 5 provided with a given engraved pattern on the periphery is positioned at a point a little behind the extruder 4 where the surface layer of the base material 1 is to be softened, and is turned at the same speed as the feeding rate of the base material 1. Thus, the molded material 2 is deformed to match with the engraved pattern of the mold 5, presenting an engraved pattern 6 on the surface of the molding.
