Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the yield and to cut the time, without machining the inside or outside of the end of a mother pipe of titanium and zircaloy or the like, by adding a cylinder device for expanding the pipe and a traveling cylinder device for slide-move fitting of a die bearing to draw in expanding and thinning its wall thickness.
CONSTITUTION: A supporting rod 4 mounting a drawing plug bearing 5 freely detachably on its tip is fitted to a cylinder device to make said 4 move reciprocatory on the center axis of drawing. A drawing die stand 6 is insertfitted with the die bearing 8 to freely advance or retreat in the direction of drawing, and a traveling cylinder device 9 is arranged to move them. The pipe end of a mother pipe A which is coverinserted to the supporting rod 4 is faced to the pipe expanding and forming tapered part 5A of a drawing plug bearing 5. Then the said part 5A and a die bearing 8 is fixed at its prescribed position, a cylinder device 13 is fitted to introduce a pipe expanding force from the rear and of the mother pipe A to the forward direction. Next, a carriage 14 is advanced to expand and thin the wall of the mother pipe A for drawing through the annular space formed by the drawing die bearing 8 and the drawing plug bearing 5.
