Abstract
PURPOSE:To make mounting and dismounting easy by such constitution wherein multicore optical fibers are aggregated on a circumference, and the respective signal beams thereof are transmitted via a 1/4 pitch rod lens and a 1/4 pitch rod lens disposed oppositely on a circular cone to single core optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:Optical fibers 3 of multicore optical fibers 4 are disposed in the tooth grooves 2 of a holding body 1 having a spur gearlike cross sectional shape, and are fixed and held by a holding cylinder 11. Light propagating in the fibers 3 passes through a multicore side 1/4 pitch rod lens 6 and emits therefrom as parallel luminous fluxes of respectively different directions. The respective luminous fluxes thereof are transmitted through the propagation space 7 in a cylindrical body 13 to single core optical fibers 10 via single core side 1/4 pitch rod lenses 8. Since the body 13 is fixed removably to the cylinder 11 by way of a stopper 12, it is easy to mount and dismount.
