Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a surer braking state of an air service brake system for a car by providing the system with a maxi-brake and keeping the air service brake also in a braking state when the car is parked or stopped by the maxi-brake.
CONSTITUTION: Maxi-brake chambers 24 and 25 are provided in an air service brake system for a car. Normally, the braking by a spring is kept released by the compressed air sent from a tank 16. For parking or stopping the car, when a knob of a brake control valve 26 for a maxi-brake is pushed in, the compressed air is exhausted, and a wheel axle is brought into a braked state. At this stage, when a knob of a valve 14 is pulled, air is sent from the tank 16 to front and rear air chambers 20, 21, and 22, 23, and the wheel axle is kept in the braked state as lighting a lamp 41. When the knob of the valve 14 is erroneously pulled without pushing in the knob of the valve 26, the knob of the valve 14 is automatically pushed back for informing a driver of an erroneous operation.
