Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an automated monitor for the interior of a treating tower by a method wherein a plurality of pairs of electrodes are placed in the treating tower to detect the electric conductivities of materials in the tower, while the detection signals are compared to reference signals to discriminate the pattern of the state and the process is controlled.
CONSTITUTION: Electric conductivity detectors each of which includes a pair of elctrodes are provided along the side wall in the treating tower such as one for regenerating an ion exchange resin, and the electric conductivities of different materials in the tower are detected. The detection signals are compared to the predetermined reference signals, and calculations are performed to discriminate the patterns regarding the number of timer of state inversions of conductivity difference signals and regarding the position of the state inversions of the signals, followed by outputting a control signal for the next operation step. Thus, the conditions of separation of the ion exchange resin or the like can be automatically remote-monitored and the treatment such as regenerating treatment can be completely automated.
