Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the assembly of a pin type disc brake by forming a right and a left slidable support portions for slide pins, in a same shape, one of the slide pins being slidably engaged with a caliper without any radial play, while the other slide pin being slidably engaged with the same through a rubber bushing.
CONSTITUTION: Friction pads 7, 8 are statically held at the upper ends of supports 2 through lugs formed in the right and left upper corners of the both pads 7, 8, and are adapted to absorb braking torque. A caliper 9 which is disposed so as to ride astride of the periphery of a disc 1, is slidably supported for moving in the direction of the axis of the disc 1 by means of a pair of a left and a right sleeves. By a hydraulic actuating mechanism incorporated in the caliper 9 on the inner side of the disk 1 where sleeves 3, 4 are positioned, the inner friction pad 7 is pushed to the disc 1, which generates reaction force moving the caliper 9 in the direction of the axis of the disc 1. Therefore, outer pawls force the outer friction pad 8 to push the disc 1.
