Abstract
PURPOSE: To safely burn the waste oil at predetermined flashing temperature by a method wherein the oil with high flashing temperature is added to the waste oil to form mixed oil and the added amount of the coil with high flashing temperature is controlled in accordance with the flashing temperature of the mixed oil when the waste oil with low flashing temperature collected from t ankers or the like is burnt.
CONSTITUTION: The oil with low flashing temperature such as slop oil or the like and the oil with high flashing temperature such as heavy oil or the like are, respectively from tanks 1 and 3 through pumps 2 and 4, sent to a mixer 5 to be mixed. A part of the mixed oil in the mixer 5 is extracted by an oil pump 6a and, after being heated to the predetermined temperature corresponding to the target flashing temperature by means of a heater 7a, led to a flashing point tester 8a. The mixed oil in the tester 8a does not ignite if its flashing temperature is higher than the predetermined heating temperature and ignites if its flashing temperature is not higher than the predetermined heating temperature. The ignition of the mixed oil is detected by a flame detector 9a. The mixed oil, the ignition of which is not detected by the detector 9a, is sent through a buffer tank 11 to a combustor 12 to be burnt. On the other hand, when the ignition of the mixed oil is detected by the detector 9a, an addition oil supply pump 13 is operated to add the oil with high flashing temperature to the tank 11 to adjust the flashing temperature of the mixed oil.
