Abstract
PURPOSE:To assure an environment that permits safe execution of titled relining within a furnace by providing a granular material layer of slag base on the high-temp. packing layer remaining in the surface, burying pipings for controlling the in-furnace atmosphere in the layer, and forming a partition plate made of concrete on the layer. CONSTITUTION:After the end of the reduction operation of the stock line, opening parts are suitably provided to shells 1, through the former of which packings are scraped out, so that the high- temp. packings 3 remaining in the furnace are lowered to a prescribed level. Thereafter, the packings 3 are leveled off with a radio controlled bulldozer or the like, after which plural pieces of pipings 8 for controlling the in-furnace atmosphere are arranged thereon; thence, slag base powder and granular materials are charged and are similarly leveled off, whereby the pipings 8 are buried in a powder and granular material layer 6. Thereafter, cement is flowed onto the layer 6, to form a partition plate 7 made of concrete, thereby forming an in-furnace sealing structure. The gases produced by reaction such as coke are being produced at all times within the packings 3, but since they are sucked away by the pipings 8, the working atmosphere on the partition plate 7 is safely maintained.
