CONSTITUTION:A bearing 7 supporting a shaft 5 of a magnet roll 4 to a housing 3 is provided with a projecting part 7a whose length from the axial center thereof up to the leading end is equal to the sum of the radius la of the roll 4 and the spacing lb between the surface of the roll and a photosensitive drum 1 by projecting the same to the drum 1 side from the housing 3. This developing device 2 is advanced until the part 7a abuts on the drum 1, and a positioning stopper 11 is abutted on the device 2 in this position and is fixed to a frame 9, thence it is retreated and the part 7a is cut off. Again, it is advanced and is fixed to the position where the stopper 11 abuts.
