Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain the spacing between a smooth recording body and electrodes constant and obtain a picture which is stable for a long period of time by coating an insulating resin contg. lubricative particles as a spacer on the part of the recording surface side of an electrode for electrostatic recording other than electric discharge electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The recording surface side of a multistylus electrode 11 buried with multiple electric discharge electrodes 2 in an insulation characteristic substrate 1 is polished to a smooth surface. Next, spacers 3 contg. about 15% lubricative particles 9 such as polytetrafluoroethylene powder of about 8mu grain sizes in an insulation characteristic resin 10 such as polyurethane resin are coated to about 10mu thickness over the entire surface in the longitudinal direction of the polished surface other than the electrode 2 parts. This electrode 11 is brought in opposite contact with the recording layer 4 of a recording body 13, whereby electrostatic latent images are obtained. The electrode 11 is protected by the spacers and is maintained at a constant spacing from the layer 4; moreover the layer 4 is constituted of a smooth surface having no ruggedness. In this way, the clogging of the toner in the layer 4 is obviated, the abrasion resistance of the spacers 3 is good and the pictures which are stable for a long period of time are obtained.
