Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the deterioration of the enzymic activity in the immobilization remarkably and obtain an immobilized enzyme having a high enzymic activity, by feeding an immobilizing agent from the vapor phase to an enzyme solution to advance the immobilization in the enzyme immobilizing step by the crosslinking method.
CONSTITUTION: In crosslinking and immobilizing an enzyme with a carrier or enzymes with each other by the action of an immobilizing agent, e.g. glutaraldehyde or an aldehyde polymer, the immobilizing agent is fed from the vapor phase thereof to an enzyme solution in an inert gaseous atmosphere, e.g. argon or nitrogen, or under reduced pressure to advance the immobilization.
