Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the execution of stable and accurate measurement of the light output of a light emitting element over a long period of time possible by automatically correcting the degradation and drift of a photodetector itself by using a reference light source. CONSTITUTION:The beams of light of a light emitting element and a reference light sources emitted by constant current sources are conducted respectively to light guides, and either of these is selected with a photoswitch. After it is photoelectrically converted and amplified, it is converted to a digital signal. At this time, the drift quantity owing to the deterioration and temp. change of a photodetector is measured, and the light output of said light emitting element is automatically corrected by way of an automatic calibrating circuit. For example, the beams of light of a light emitting element 10 and a reference light source 11 emitting by constant electric current circuits 8, 9 are conducted to guides 12 and 13, and are converted to electric signals by a photodetector 15 via a photoswitch 14. After these signals are amplified, they are digitized. At this time, the sensitivity of the photodetector is automatically corrected by using an automatic calibrating circuit 18.
