Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a character printing by opposing stationally a two dimensional light emitting device having many light emitting elements such as a dot array to a charged photosensitive body surface, and by exposing to radiation from this light emitting device. CONSTITUTION:A pattern emitting device 5, charging devices 6a, 6b are fixed in a carriage 4, move in an exposure platen and a photosensitive body belt 1, and driven with a wire 9. The carriage 4 is driven intermittently to and from at each pitch of one letter column, exposed in one letter column with said device 5 at rest, and during exposure by a stated size voltage is applied to an charging and exposure device 6a, for that period of time the belt 1 stops. With such constitution, exposure is done. In said pattern emitting device, 25 light emitting diodes for one letter of 5X7 are arranged with a specified pitch over width of a short side of a A4 size.
