Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a compact nonimpact serial printer by using a luminous diode array as a light source in an electronic photographic recording method. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 7 on a carriage 4 comes into contact with a paper on a platen 2 under printing condition. After the photosensitive drum 7 is evenly charged by a corona discharger 13, dot pattern signal of vertical one row is periodically supplied to a semiconductor luminous element array 9 synchronously with the rotation of the photosensitive drum 7, and each light source 9a luminesces according to the dot pattern signal to form an electrostatic latent image which is in turn visualized upon the adherence of toner 12 at a developer 11. The image is carried along to contact position with printing paper 1 as the photosensitive drum 7 turns and the toner 12 is absorbed by the magnetism of the magnet plate 3 to transfer the image to the printing paper 1.
