Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner having superior fixability and shelf stability and capable of being well fixed even by flash fixing by adding a specified polyamide resin having specified softening point, melt viscosity and mol. wt. CONSTITUTION:A 1-component magnetic toner or a 2-component toner is manufactured by adding a polyamide resin represented by formula -(OC-R-CONH-R'-NH)- (where each of R and R' is hydrocarbon) and having 80-180 deg.C softening point, <=50cps melt viscosity at 160 deg.C and 1,000-9,000mol.wt., e.g., ''Versamid '' together with other binder such as epoxy resin. The resulting toner has a high softening point, hardly undergoes a change up to a temp. close to the softening point, and does not cause blocking, etc., so it has high shelf stability. The toner has low viscosity at the m.p. and above. The viscosity is made low by instantaneous heating, and the toner is well stuck to a fixing surface. Thus, a developer contg. the toner with superior shelf stability and fixability and consuming less energy for fixing is obtd.
