Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an easily manufactured and inexpensive optical branching filter by forming a replica of a grating directly at the end of a lens, to which optical fibers are connected, by utilizing an adhesive resin. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of a grating 9 made of silicon or glass, a metallic film 10 is vapor-deposited. End parts of optical fibers 12-16 are adhered to the end surface of a lens 11, and epoxy resin is also adhered to the prescribed-wavelength light of incident light from the optical fiber 12 is made incident to the optical fibers 13-16. Then, only the grating 9 is removed except the metallic film 10. On the grating replica 18, resin 19 for protection is coated. Thus, an optical branching filter which is manufactured easily and inexpensive is obtained.
