Abstract

PURPOSE: To collect efficiently the heat of the exhaust gas from the flue of a boiler or the like without being hindered by tar or the like by a method wherein a thin wire is inserted into each of a group of multistaged small throughholes arranged within the heat exchange block at right angles per stage alternately, in such a manner that one end of the thin wire is held unsustained.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of flat sheet materials 11 and a plurality of corrugated sheet materials 12 are bonded in layers per stage alternately with the direction of corrugation of the sheet material 12 of one layer intersecting at right angles with that of the sheet material 12 of the adjacent layer and the assembly of the sheet materials 11 and 12 are housed within a container to thereby form the heat exchange block 5 having the groups of orthogonal small throughholes 1 and 2. Then, the thin wires are inserted into one of the groups of the small throughholes 1 and 2, respectively, in such a manner that the innermost end of each of the thin wires 4 is held unsustained while the other end thereof is supported by a support rod 15 at a position spaced a suitable distance from one side of the the heat exchange block 5 so that the wire vibrastes freely. Thus, when the heat exchange block 5 of the above structure is mounted in the flue for the purpose of collecting the exhaust gas therein, the fine wires 4 are vibrated by the exhaust gas to thereby prevent carbon or the like from adhering to the small througholes 1 and 2 in the heat exchange block 5.
